International Seminar on Manufacturing Optical Devices
International Seminar on Manufacturing Optical Devices takes place on June 9th 2014 in Joensuu, University of Eastern Finland campus (Metria-building). The Seminar registration begins at 8:30am and the session ends at 4pm, then an informal evening event. The detailed program can be found here.
We are pleased to announce the following Keynote Speakers for the Seminar:
- 3D printed optics, Joris Biskop, Chief Technology Officer, LUXeXceL, Goes, The Netherlands
- Express testing of imaging optical systems, Dr. Irina Livshits, Head of Lab "CAD for Opto-Information & energy saving systems", NRU ITMO, St. Petersburg, Russia
- Practical challenges in manufacturing freeform optics, Dr. David Crosby, Eyejusters Ltd, United Kingdom
In addition there will be presentations from Nokia, Optomed, Oplatek Group, Nanocomp, University of Eastern Finland and Karelia University of applied sciences.
The seminar is chaired by Professor Jyrki Saarinen.
All attendees are invited to give a short-talk (2-5 minutes depending on the amount of talks) of their own expertise. The event is free of charge.
The Seminar is organised by Karelia University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Joensuu Summer School on Optics. This year topic in the Summer School is Optical Metrology and Fabrication with Professor David J Robertson, Durham University, UK.
